Ecclesbourne and Heanor Gate lead the way after first round of KS3 Girls Football fixtures

Ripley Academy hosted six teams in the first of two rounds of KS3 Girls Football fixtures with students from Y7, Y8 and Y9 competing to win points for their team and position themselves well for the second round in May
There were some really close games and fantastic team and individual performances from players in every team, there were games in which the goalkeepers and defenders excelled themselves and others where attacking play came out on top which was fantastic to see!
Ecclesbourne and Heanor Gate will go into the second round as the teams to beat however with both going unbeaten this round to hold the share of the lead
Ripley Academy A took advantage of home territory to claim 3rd place ahead of Aldercar High, David Nieper Academy and Ripley Academy B
Well done to everyone who took part, we look forward to seeing you all at the second round in May
Full standings:
1st: Ecclesbourne - 13 points (+ 12 GD)
2nd: Heanor Gate - 13 points (+9 GD)
3rd: Ripley Academy A - 7 points
4th: Aldercar High - 4 points
